3001 AD, LLC, a Florida based developer of Virtual Reality (VR) technologies, has announced the release of a low cost virtual reality solution that is compatible with popular gaming consoles.
With Trimersion, Virtual Reality is now available for the home. For years VR game systems were only available to high-end arcades and research facilities. These systems cost from $30,000 to $60,000 and performance was questionable. Now with the speed of modern computers and game consoles, technology has finally reached the point where VR is both affordable and FUN!
People who love first person shooter games will be amazed when the Trimersion Head Mounted Display (HMD) puts them right in the middle of the action. As players look around, a miniature head tracker moves the computer world around respectively. The unique gun input device makes playing a game both intuitive and cool. The gun even vibrates when the trigger is pulled. First person shooters on console game systems will never be the same again.
Trimersion recently debuted at the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and 3001 AD is working with distributors to bring the product to the shelves. More information about Trimersion can be found at http://www.trimersion.com.
“It’s always been a goal of ours to make virtual reality available to the consumer,” said Bob. “I’m now confident we’ll attain this goal.” |
